Gorgeous Grenada Holidays
Are you looking for a really great place to dive in the Caribbean? As well as beautiful beaches and great hotels and all the other Caribbean things? Then Grenada could be the place for you!
Grenada is a gorgeous little gem of an island - or actually three little gems. As well as the main island of Grenada itself, the island state includes Carriacou and Petite Martinique, two smaller islands that, despite their size, are rich in history and cultural traditions.
Grenada is famous for:
- Grand Anse beach, a two mile long white sand beach that is widely considered one of the best in the world. There are also 39 other beautiful beaches!
- Exceptional diving, with wrecks, reefs and an underwater sculpture park among its 30 recognised dive sites. The snorkelling is also superb!
- Beautiful unspoilt natural scenery, including rainforest and 15 waterfalls, historic sites, rum distilleries and chocolate factories.
- Spices. It is known as 'the spice island of the Caribbean'.

Gorgeous Grenada Holiday Options
Grenada has a great range of holiday options.
They range from top quality international five star resorts to local, family owned, boutique hotels and self catering apartments.
Most of the bigger establishments are in the south west of the island around the capital city of St George's, where the airport is also situated. The majority of the main resorts are within a few minutes drive of the airport.
The options include all-inclusive resorts and resorts that offer all-inclusive as one option among others. Some of them are for adults only, while some cater for everyone including families. There are rooms available right on the beach at Grand Anse, giving you access straight out of your door onto the sand.
Outside of this tourist focus area there are also smaller scale resorts and hotels all over the island.
Carriacou and petite Martinique are about an hour and a half to two hours away by boat and 20 minutes by light aircraft. Carriacou has hotels and guesthouses on it and even Petite Martinique has some options for staying there but most visitors take a day trip to one or other of the islands, enjoy the beaches and the attractions there and return to Grenada the same day.

There are 40 beaches on the three islands. Grand Anse is the best known, but La Sagesse on the south west coast is a more remote and secluded and also extremely well known and highly rated beach. Morne Rouge Beach and Magazine Beach are also favourites, and on Carriacou, Paradise Beach and Anse La Roche Bay merit special mention.
As well as the lovely beaches and the magnificent diving, Grenada has a wealth of beautiful scenery with a substantial rainforest, lakes, waterfalls and mangroves, and mineral springs. It is wonderful for hiking and bird watching and you can hire bicycles or, if you prefer, go on an off-road vehicle.
Apart from the beautiful Georgian architecture in the towns, there is also plenty of history and working spice farms, chocolate factories and rum distilleries to visit.
Overall, Grenada is a small, compact, beautiful island, with extremely friendly, laid back people. It is the perfect place for a really relaxing holiday, with an idyllic year round climate, outside the main hurricane zone, so excellent for visiting at any time of year.
