Victoria Falls
One of the natural wonders of the world and certainly one of the most spectacular sights in Africa, no holiday to Zimbabwe would be complete without a visit to the Victoria Falls. Zimbabwe is just as good a base for this as Zambia is.
Hwange National Park
Zimbabwe's biggest national park and great place to see the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo) is Hwange National park.
It's on the western side of Zimbabwe, very close to the Victoria Falls, and it's specially known for huge herds of elephants and buffalos. It also has the highest species diversity of mammals of any game reserve in the world, with over 100 species. Included in this is a full range of predators, including African wild dogs (also known as painted wolves) and cheetahs. As well as large areas accessible to self-drive safaris, there are big private conservancies served by top quality exclusive lodges.
In combination with Victoria Falls this is one of the most popular and cost effective destinations that we offer.

Lake Kariba & Matusadona National Park
On the Zambezi River, downstream of the Victoria Falls is the huge man made lake, Lake Kariba. With the Matusadona National Park along its shores, Kariba is a wonderful place for water based game viewing as well as tiger-fishing. There are great tours available to Kariba, as well as superb lodges along its edge and houseboats to hire on the lake. this is an exceptional place for a really chilled holiday that also offers the opportunity for great game viewing.
Mana Pools National Park
One of the best known wildlife areas in Zimbabwe is the Mana Pools national park on the Zambezi River below Kariba. Together with the Lower Zambezi National park, on the other side of the river in Zambia, this makes up a huge game conservancy and it is an excellent wildlife viewing area.
Gonarezhou National Park
In the south east of Zimbabwe, much further from the main centres and relatively rarely visited, is the stunning Gonarezhou National park, which forms part of the Limpopo Trans-frontier Park with the Kruger Park in South Africa and the Limpopo Park in Mozambique.
This area offers a very special and exclusive experience in an exceptionally beautiful and increasingly game-rich area.

Birding
Throughout Zimbabwe the diversity of bird-life is spectacular. All the wildlife areas offer fantastic birding opportunities, but anywhere you travel in Zimbabwe you will see beautiful and unusual birds. Lake Kariba and the areas along the Zambezi are particularly good for water birds.
Scenery and History
No mention of Zimbabwe would be complete without reference to Great Zimbabwe, the ruined remains of the capital of a great regional medieval kingdom. These are well worth a visit for those interested in history.
The country is also full of beautiful landscapes from the Matopos, a wonderful and strange range of rocky mountains, to the lush eastern highlands.
Zimbabwe can easily be included in Holidays to South Africa, Botswana, Zambia or Mozambique.
