Superb Kafue Holidays
Are you looking for a superb wildlife safari in an extremely diverse area that is easily accessible and offers you huge variety? Perhaps you want to be close to the Victoria Falls and the wonderful Chobe area in Botswana, as well as Lusaka. Then Kafue could well be your choice.
By far the oldest national park in Zambia, having been established in the 1950s, and one of the biggest in Africa, at nearly 9000 square miles (bigger than Wales), Kafue offers a huge varietty of landscapes, eco-systems, and holiday types.
It's so big that, despite its age and accessibility, large parts of it are almost completely untouched, so it offers a truly wild expereince with a huge amount of game and a vast diversity of birds.
It is our mission to make sure that as many people as possible can enjoy the superb experience of a safari in the African bush as we did through our many years living in Southern Africa. As a UK based and registered travel agent, with full ABTA and ATOL protection and access, through the Hays Travel Group, to all the local lodges, camps and tour operators, we can do so at the best rates and on the most flexible terms.

Superb Options For Your Holiday To Kafue
One of the best areas in Kafue is the is the Busanga Plains in the far northern section of the park. These vast open plains teem with game in the dry season and are best visited from July to November. They are particularly known for letchwe, puku and roan antelope.
This area is also good for sightings of cheetah which are not found in many parts of Zambia, as well as large prides of lion. The population of endangered wild dog is also much higher than in most parks.
One of greatest offerings here, though, is the superb birdlife, with Crowned and Wattled cranes prominent among the 500 species of bird recorded.
The Busanga Plains can be seen from boats on the Kafue River, on foot, from game drive vehicles or from hot air baloons.
Further south lies the Itezhi-Tezhi Dam, a huge expanse of water constructed in the 1970s for a hydro-electricity project. This is an outstanding place for birding.
Still further south are the massive Nanzhila Plains that are another excellent area for viewing all types of game.
There is a good variety of holiday options in Kafue, with all types of accommodation from the basic to high end ultra-luxury lodges. Self drive is a real option here; there are also other options, like fishing on the dams, available.
If Kafue sounds like the place for your superb Zambia wildlife holiday we can advise and help with the bookings and ensure that you have the holiday of your dreams. Perhaps we could arrange to combine it with the Victoria Falls and Chobe, or with a trip to South Africa or a beach holiday in Mozambique.
