Exciting East African Holidays
East Africa has always had an aura of beauty, mystery and excitement. Think about the beautiful film Out of Africa!
It is also featured in many of the most watched and loved wildlife documentaries. Most people have heard about the great wildebeest migration or the lions of the Serengeti.
It is a part of the world that speaks intimately to our need for wildness, our admiration of wild animals and birds and our longing for wild and wide-open spaces.
It is a part of the world that has become supremely expert at providing fantastic holiday experiences of all sorts from safaris to the wonderful beaches of Zanzibar. And that is partly because the whole region, from the critically endangered mountain gorillas and black rhinos, through every part of the ecosystem, to the people themselves and their economic and social survival need the contributions made by tourists.
Your holiday to East Africa will be a perfect win win: some of the most exciting and wonderful moments of your life that will be helping the people, places and creatures of this exquisite part of Africa.

Exciting Holiday Options In East Africa
You are really spoiled for choice in East Africa:
Kenya
Kenya is probably the oldest and best established safari and birding destination. Most people have heard of the Masai Mara game reserve, one of the main places to see the Great Migration, but there are many other options as well, many of them well known, but some more remote and unusual. Kenya is easy to get to, with direct flights from Heathrow and there is a long tradition of outstanding service there.
Tanzania
Tanzania has the greatest variety of options, with some of the best safari destinations, including the famous Serengeti National Park, which is the main area of the Great Migration, the Ngorongoro Crater, and several much less well known and more remote, but equally exciting options. One of these is chimpanzee trekking. Everywhere there incredible birds, and they differ greatly from south to north. Tanzania also has Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa to trek up. And, of course, it has the Zanzibar archipelago, one of the best destinations in the Indian Ocean for fantastic beach holidays.
Uganda
Less well known, but also extremely diverse is Uganda. Uganda has great safari options of all sorts, but its great attractions are the birds and the gorillas. Uganda is certainly one of the best destinations for birders, with over 500 species. It is also one of only three countries in the world where you can see mountain gorillas. As well as the gorillas there are more than a dozen other primate species.

Rwanda
Rwanda is perhaps the best known place to see mountain gorillas. What is less well known about it is that also has absolutely extraordinary birding opportunities, and more than a dozen primate species, as well as big game safaris in a beautiful game reserve. It also has lovely beaches on the fresh water Lake Kivu. One of the best things about Rwanda is that it is small and all the different opportunities are easily linked together.
Malawi
Thinking of fresh water beaches leads to thinking about Malawi, with its wonderful Lake Malawi, which has fantastic swimming, boating and even snorkelling and diving in fresh water. Malawi also has safari opportunities and outstanding birding.
Each of these destinations has plenty of exciting opportunities in itself, but of course they can also all be linked together in multi-centre holidays. Safari and beach combinations are very popular. This can also be achieved by combining East Africa destinations with others such as those in Southern Africa, such as Zambia or Mozambique, or the Indian Ocean islands.
